Ian McCarthy, Varsity Head Coach
Started coaching at Young in the fall of 2004. During his three seasons with the boys, he led them to the City Quarterfinals in 2004 and 2006 and the City Semifinal in 2005. In the IHSA State Tournament, his boys teams have appeared in three consecutive Regional Championships and two Sectional finals. On the girls side, Young has been in two consecutive City Semifinals, regional finals, and one Sectional Championship (2006). Coach McCarthy holds a Brazilian C License and is an active member in the CPSSCA. He has won IHSSCA coach of the year honors in 2003 and twice in 2005. He sits on the IHSA Advisory Committee through 2007. In addition the coaching, he is also an English teacher at Whitney Young Magnet and manages the Boys H.S. indoor league at Chitown Futbol.
Brendan Brown, Varsity Assistant
Coach Brown joined Whitney Young in the fall of 2004. He is the conditioning coach for the entire program in addition to assisting the Varsity side during their matches.
